Another Mercedes Benz LED Projector teardown

Got this one too, its quite similiar in shape with previous mercedes benz led projector.

Let’s go with the left one firts.

Very tiny heatsink since this one is active cooling, molded as one with fan. Made by AL

DSC_1675

13.5 VDC Fan with 0.3A consumption, it’s quite loud actually. But i don’t think will be a problem since car engine louder than this fan.

Wait a sec…. I had seen this Rotary shield mechanism before.

DSC_1680

Philips Altilon emitter in 1×4 configuration, you can see all the detail in datasheet. Just google it ……

That is the beam pattern with 1A drive IIRC, to be honest it is butt ugly. Intensity grading is not smooth unlike Hella.

DSC_1684

Move to the right one. Heatsink is plastic covered.

DSC_1687

It’s act as wind tunnel from the other side led projector, so this one does not need a fan.

DSC_1688

Shield design almost same as AL made for BMW projector before.

DSC_1690

Nice to see those optic above the emitter itself.

DSC_1691

Sorry i lost my note about wiring to the connector, but it is a dual configuration. 8*emitter in series for the top and 4*emitter in series for the bottom.

Using Oslon Compact. I see 3 type for this type, 300mA, 700mA and 1000mA but after seeing the pads at the Aluminium PCB itself I’m sure this one is 700mA or 1000mA version. Again, you can google those datasheet for complete emitter spesification.

DSC_1705

8*emitter at the top with 700mA drive. It have a lot better intensity grading than spot projector.

DSC_1701

Together with 4*emitter in series at the bottom position. Funny, like a crown pattern.

DSC_1702

This look’s when both projector is combined.

Thank’s to Wanto Bekas Loak for lend me this LED Projector.
